Theodore Presser Company is now offering Polskie WydawnictwoMuzyczne's (PWM's) completed National Edition series,undertaken in celebration of Chopin's 200th birthday. The NationalEdition was an ongoing research project, gathering together allavailable source materials and producing definitive publications. Underthe direction of Jan Ekier, his team used the latest techniques toassess the composer's intentions and relate this to modern pianosand performance. Each volume includes an abridged source commentary andperformance commentary, along with of relevant correspondence about thepieces. Newly available as National Editions and rounding out the series,PWM presents Works for Piano and Cello and Variations on "La cidarem la mano" for Piano and Orchestra.
