Through a magical book belonging to hergrandfather, a young girl meets these composers and their music as theyare brought forward in time, in full costume, into her grandpa'smusic room.Students of EMTA members, posing as the famous composers'students, each performs a piece by one of the composers. The selectedpieces are brief and grab the attention of the young audiences. EdmondsSchool District Edmonds School District No. 15 is a school district that serves the communities of Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and portions of Brier and unincorporated Snohomish County in the state of Washington. Music Supervisor Tam Osborne lent his support and ideasin the development process, and the district's print shop providesthe printing of all the programs. All of the actors are volunteers, andthey include EMTA teacher Jolinda Shaffer, retired music educators,students of EMTA teachers and community members.The performance schedule for the 2001-2002 school year features anaverage of one show a month at local public and private elementaryschools. We're excited that during this school year about 4,000kids in our community will get to meet Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Gershwinin person and hear their music performed live--thanks to the "Magicof Music."Debra L.
