David Froom named MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer of the Year. David Froom was awarded the MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer ofthe Year at the 2007 CFMTA-MTNA-RCM Collaborative Conference in Toronto. Froom's music has been performed extensively throughout theUnited States by major orchestras, ensembles and soloists, including,among many others, the Louisville, Seattle, Utah and Chesapeake SymphonyOrchestras, The United States Marine and Navy Bands, the Chamber MusicSociety of Lincoln Center, the Twentieth Century Consort, the New YorkNew Music Ensemble The New York New Music Ensemble is a contemporary chamber music group. The group formed in 1975. Current members include: flutist Jayn Rosenfeld, clarinetist Jean Kopperud, violinist Linda Quan, cellist Chris Finckel, pianist Stephen Gosling and percussionist Daniel Druckman. , violinist Curtis Macomber and saxophonist KennethTse. He also has performed in England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy,Holland, China and Australia.
